Morten Meldal, CSO
Morten has 30+ years of a scientific career and is an internationally renowned peptide and carbohydrate chemist. Among several other technologies, he is the betabody technology inventor and author of more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and dozens of patents. In 2019 he was one of the front runner candidates for the Nobel Prize in chemistry because of his invention of click-chemistry in 2003. He co-founded Combio with Søren Mouritsen in 2001, which was sold to Arpida and listed on the Swiss Stock Exchange in 2004. In addition to serving as the Betamab CSO, he is also part-time full professor and head of Centre for Synthetic Biology at the University of Copenhagen. Morten has an engineering master’s degree and has a Ph.D. in Chemistry.
